4th (Volunteer) Battalion The Royal Irish Rangers Annual Camp 1986, England.

NIMBadge 4 (V) R IRISH, commanded by Lt Col S M Elder TD, attended Annual Camp at Wretham Training Camp, near Thetford, Norfolk for two weeks during August 1986.

The first week included individual training cadres for driving, machine gun, signals and mortar. Other activities included the Annual Personal Weapon Test, an Annual Review of a Unit (ARU) inspection by a senior staff officer from Headquarters Northern Ireland (Col Trotman) and , in week two, a battalion catering competition. The second week began with Ex HIBERNIAN DANDER, a battalion three day field exercise with B Company and the Anti-Tank Platoon providing the enemy force. Annual Camp concluded with a battalion parade and march past, the salute being taken by the Commanding Officer.
